Wellness Dog Food Product Lines
Wellness dog food is one of the top dog food brands in the country. It offers a lot of different kinds of dog foods that would cater to all of your pet dog’s needs. Wellness dog food is a product of Old Mother Hubbard Company which was founded almost a century ago. They first released their brand of dog foods in 1991. Now, Wellness offers both the canned variety as well as the dried dog food variety. It is a brand that focuses on making sure your pets get natural and healthy food.
There are three lines of product that Wellness dog food is offering their customers. Each of these is designed for specific needs of your best friend. These lines of product are the Wellness CORE, the Wellness Simple Food Solutions and the Wellness Super5mix Dry Dog Food.
The 3 Wellness Dog Food Product Lines
1. The Wellness CORE is of the dry dog formulas. It has high protein content and is absolutely grain free. It is designed for active dogs like hunting dogs and competition dogs and for dogs that are over a year old. It is also for your dogs that are in need of a balanced protein diet. But because of the high protein content, it’s not really good for dogs below 1 year old.
Wellness CORE is different from other dog food brands because it is not stuffed with meat. It works on the viewpoint that the fat as well as the calorie content of the food is increased when there is too much protein. The three formulas under the Wellness Core product line are: 1. Wellness CORE Dry Reduced Fat, 2. Wellness Core Dry Ocean Formula, 3. Wellness Core Dry Original Formula.
Wellness Dog Food Simple Solutions
2. The Wellness Simple Food Solutions on the other hand is a great product that Wellness dog food is offering. This is because there are so many pet owners (around 50 percent) that believe their dogs are suffering from some sort of an allergic reaction or sensitivity to food. Symptoms could be itchy paws to stomach disorders, to skin conditions. These symptoms of course prompts them to search for dog food that would keep their pets from having any allergic reactions, while giving them the essential nutrients to keep them healthy.
To provide your beloved pets with relief from food sensitivity and keep them happily fed, Wellness Simple Food Solution came up with the formula that would include only the things that your dog needs. It encompasses the philosophy of using 1 carbohydrates + 1 unique meat. Add 3 necessary supplemental ingredients and you’ve got the perfect formula. The three products under this are: 1. Rice and Duck Formula, 2. Rice and Salmon Formula, 3. Rice and Lamb Formula.
Wellness Dog Food Super5mix
3. The Wellness Super5mix Dry Dog Food has a long list of products that are appropriate for specific dogs from puppies to adult dogs, to senior dogs, from large breeds to small breeds. These are formulas that offer healthy and balanced diets of complex carbohydrates and proteins. Overall, there are 9 different Wellness Super5mix Dry Dog Food formulas that you could choose from.
The Wellness Dog Food brand serves a lot of people and their pets. It offers a variety of products that are designed to give your dogs the best and healthiest food that they can have.

Wellness Dog Food
I have recently been very interested in learning about wellness dog food. I often go the park to walk my two dogs (a German shepherd and a sheltie) and the ritzy dog owners are always bragging about this wellness dog food that they buy. At first I didn’t think much of it, but then I started to get more and more curious. The real problem came when I typed “wellness dog food“ into Google and found a whole bunch of contradictory reviews. I was wondering if anyone else out there has had the same problem.
Wellness Dog Food Reviews
First I read one review by a certified dog breeder who claims that she fed award winning dogs nothing but wellness dog food for a long time. The way the review was worded I seriously wonder if it was done by a legitimate person. They seemed to very partial to the canned options.
Then I read another review by an everyday pet owner that talked about how wellness dog food was a waste of time. They had bought the food hoping to improve the health of their fragile young dog. Nothing notable had happened and when they went to the veterinarian, they told them that wellness dog food being different from any other dog food was a myth. I simply don’t know who or what to believe. The people in the park I talk to daily seemed pretty certain that wellness dog food was worth the added expense, but it could be a placebo effect given that they don’t really have a way to test it.
Is Wellness Dog Food Worth the Extra Money?
The wellness dog food ads claim that there are specific ingredients in it that helps strength an animal’s bones, and gives them the nutrients they really need. They claim that only wholesome ingredients that are high in protein are used. Finally, they state that their product is completely free of Ethoxyquin, which I didn’t even know was a major issue. I do know that when I see other people in the park using it their dogs seem healthy enough. I also know that the dogs really seem to like the taste! The pleasantly soft texture seems to truly appeal to them. They also went nuts for the treats that wellness dog food makes (the ones that are soft and chewable and supposed to help prevent tooth decay etc).
Wellness Dog Food | Conclusion
So can someone please tell me if wellness dog food is worth it? I love my dog as much as anyone else and only want to give it the best. Will it really make my dog happier, healthier and stronger? Did it actually give your dog a shinier coat and more energy? Is there really any benefit to feeding lamb or chicken to a dog? I just want to know before I got plop down hundreds of dollars on my own stash of wellness dog food so I can keep up with my new dog-walking friends at the park.
